What to Order at Toki: A First-Timer's Guide to the Menu

The Toki menu explained for first-timers in Jeddah: which dim sum, duck, mains, rice and mocktails to order, with real SAR prices and totals for two and six.

. 5 min read

Dim sum spread in bamboo steamers on a white tablecloth: sui mai topped with chili sauce, translucent shrimp dumplings and purple, green and orange dumplings, with chopsticks to the side.

The Toki menu is long, and on a first visit it is easy to order three fried dishes and miss the best of it. The fix is to order the way a Chinese table does: small plates first, a few shared mains, and everything passed around.

This guide uses the November 2026 menu at Toki in Al Khalidiyah, Jeddah, with real prices in Saudi riyals. Calories and allergens for every dish are on the Toki menu page.

How should you order at a Chinese restaurant like Toki?

Order for the table, not for yourself. Start with dim sum, add a starter or two, choose one duck, then one dish from the land and one from the sea, finish with rice or noodles, and drink mocktails or tea.

Everything comes to the middle to share, so a table of four does not need four mains. Start with a little less than you think and add a dish later.

Which dim sum should you order first?

Start with two or three baskets: one delicate, one rich and one with a little heat. Dim sum is one of the things Google reviewers praise most at Toki.

  • Xiao Long Bao (SAR 68): Guangzhou style chicken dumplings with a light spicy sauce.
  • Crystal Shrimp (SAR 55): translucent dumplings with Chinese water chestnut and carrot.
  • Kaffir Lobster Dumpling (SAR 128): lobster, prawn, kaffir lime and spinach, new on the menu.
  • Toki Pink Puff Dumpling (SAR 98): Wagyu and beetroot, also new.
  • Crystal Mushroom Dumpling (SAR 74): king and shiitake mushroom with truffle sauce.

For spice, the Szechuan Sui Mai (SAR 50) brings chicken, shrimp and chili. The special of the month is the Char Siu Beef Dumpling (SAR 98) with beetroot, lotus and hoisin. For a basket-by-basket tour, read the types of dim sum at Toki.

Which starters are worth ordering?

Pick one crisp starter and one fresh one, so the table gets contrast before the mains.

On the crisp side, Salt & Pepper Tiger Prawns (SAR 130) are stir fried with dry chili, spring onion and Chinese spices, and Sesame Prawn Toast (SAR 94) comes with hoisin.

On the fresh side, the Chicken Lettuce Wrap (SAR 94) is made for sharing. The Lobster Salad (SAR 180), with pecans, mixed greens and citrus, is one of the most-liked dishes on Toki’s Instagram.

Should you order the Peking Duck or the crispy duck?

For four or more people, order the Toki Peking Duck (SAR 420). For two, the Szechuan Crispy Duck (SAR 253) is the better size.

The Peking Duck comes with classic and non-classic garnishes and is carved for the table. At 2,152 kcal in total, it really is meant for a group. The Szechuan Crispy Duck arrives with spring onion, cucumber, homemade pancakes and plum relish. For more on how the duck is served, see the Peking Duck guide.

Which main dishes should you choose from the land and the sea?

Choose one of each. Crispy Szechuan Angus Beef (SAR 242) is the easy first pick from the land, and the Cantonese Style Seabass (SAR 320) balances it from the sea.

Crispy beef and Wagyu are the dishes Google reviewers mention most. The beef is finished in a Szechuan glaze with chili and spring onion. For Wagyu, the Black Pepper Wagyu Tenderloin is SAR 473, and the new Wagyu Butter Black Beans, with mango, ginger and XO sauce, is SAR 426.

Sweet and Sour Chicken (SAR 154), with pineapple and bell peppers, was Toki’s most-liked Instagram post of the last two years. It suits anyone who wants something milder.

The seabass comes whole with ginger, spring onion, leek and superior soy, a clean Cantonese way with fish that sits well next to richer meat. Sesame Glazed Salmon (SAR 180) is a lighter option, and for a celebration the Honey Black Pepper Lobster is SAR 750.

Should you order rice or noodles?

Order one rice or noodle dish for two people, and two for a larger table. They round out the meal rather than lead it. Our guide to spring rolls, fried rice and noodles explains what to look for in each.

Braised Short Rib Noodles (SAR 220) are the most filling choice. Vegetable Fried Rice is SAR 50, with truffle for SAR 30 more, and Vegetable Noodles are SAR 66. Add Cantonese Spinach (SAR 80) if the table needs greens.

What should you drink at Toki?

Choose from nine signature mocktails at SAR 55 each, or Chinese tea at SAR 28.

Jade Fizz (cucumber, apple, passion fruit and yuzu) and Pink Lady (fresh raspberry, yuzu and ginger) are light enough for dim sum. Panda, with lychee, ginger, orange and vanilla, is softer against spicy dishes. For tea, Jasmine Dragon Pearl is fragrant and gentle.

How much does dinner for two cost at Toki?

A full dinner for two comes to about SAR 870 at menu prices, close to the roughly SAR 850 for two that one Google reviewer quoted.

  • Xiao Long Bao: SAR 68
  • Crystal Shrimp: SAR 55
  • Chicken Lettuce Wrap: SAR 94
  • Szechuan Crispy Duck: SAR 253
  • Crispy Szechuan Angus Beef: SAR 242
  • Vegetable Fried Rice: SAR 50

  • Total: SAR 872

For two, skip the sea dish, since the duck and the beef are plenty. Swap the beef for Sweet and Sour Chicken and the total drops to about SAR 785.

What should a group of six order?

A group of six can cover the whole menu for about SAR 2,645, or roughly SAR 440 each.

  • Xiao Long Bao, two baskets: SAR 136
  • Crystal Shrimp, two baskets: SAR 110
  • Kaffir Lobster Dumpling: SAR 128
  • Salt & Pepper Tiger Prawns: SAR 130
  • Chicken Lettuce Wrap: SAR 94
  • Toki Peking Duck: SAR 420
  • Black Pepper Wagyu Tenderloin: SAR 473

  • Braised Short Rib Noodles: SAR 220
  • Vegetable Fried Rice: SAR 50
  • Cantonese Spinach: SAR 80
  • Six signature mocktails: SAR 330
  • Total: SAR 2,645

Let the dim sum and starters land first, then the duck, then the mains together. There are more tips in the group dining guide, and when you have a date in mind you can book your table.
